

SCHOOLS/COMMUNITY PROGRAMME
Blue Nile Soccer & Sports Schools programme will bring quality and professional provision to schools throughout the Yorkshire area.
The vibrant development programme, although extensive will be split into three key areas of provision.

HEALTH
Comprehensive programmes will be developed through external funding sources including local PCT and the Football Foundation.
A dedicated team of project workers will teach important health related messages using the medium of football to encourage awareness and key learning objectives.
Health programmes will be linked to the national curriculum areas of Science, PSHE and Physical Education.
BNSS will deliver health related messages to over 5000 children throughout the Yorkshire region every year
EDUCATION
BNSS will offer comprehensive educational packages to suit the needs and requirements of individuals.
Programmes are either delivered as part of a PPA package or to provide teacher support
Session plans will be available to cover most parts of the national curriculum and can be tailor made to suit the individual
All BNSS staff will receive training to support areas of delivery including Invasion games, Gymnastics, Athletics, Dance and striking and fielding and many more.
FOOTBALL
Various football packages will be available to all throughout the year for all ages and abilities.
Curriculum, lunch time, weekend and after school coaching will be available
To ensure high quality and child safety, all delivery staff will hold a FA coaching certificate and will be CRB checked as a minimum coaching requirement.
Activities will also include regular tournaments and leagues for both boys and girls held nationwide.

BNSS will work with a 15:1 ratio in all after community coaching sessions for maximum player development and skill harnessing.
During the summer months, we shall cater for unlimited numbers of children/service users as outdoor facilities are available.
During winter, sessions are indoor-based and numbers will be restricted to 20 or less.
Sessions can be adapted to suit the needs of the different age groups. We shall offer alternatives to football such as health, fun and fitness, multi-sport/skill and lifestyle management.
EDUCATION THROUGH FOOTBALL, GAMES AND SPORTS
This will targets Year 5 and 6 pupils and focuses on positive health messages.
The children will participate in tours of the different sporting and games centres in the region or country, an interactive healthy eating game and there will be anti-smoking game show.
The children will also be shown the importance of warm-ups and teamwork and they will develop their skills.
HEALTH PROMOTION THROUGH FOOTBALL, GAMES AND SPORTS

This will targets Y3 and Y4 and concentrates on the importance of a healthy balanced diet and physical exercise.
There will be games to cover healthy topics in a fun way which will encourage the children to make positive health choices.
BNSS HEADING FOR HEALTH
Blue Nile Soccer & Sports will form a partnership with Local Primary Care Trust in order to deliver a concentrated healthy lifestyle programme in all primary schools in West Yorkshire.
The initiative will aim to improve the children’s and their families level of physical participation, improve health awareness, improve health choices and increase confidence and self-esteem.
The initiative will use a wide variety of programmes to promote the healthy lifestyle message.
BREAKFAST CLUBS
We will encourage family physical activity for all prior to school/work in a safe and enjoyable environment at home, school or at the centre.
We will highlight the importance of a healthy breakfast and understanding that it is the most important meal of the day.
LUNCH TIME CLUBS
We will encourage families to monitor there children’s eating habits during lunch time and encourage healthier choices, promoting a balanced diet and providing physical activity opportunities.
AFTER-SCHOOL CLUBS
We will give the children the opportunity to improve physical activity levels by participating in either after school football activities or health, fun and fitness.
The sessions will be designed to be fun and enjoyable to create a positive learning environment which will hopefully lead to an increase in physical activity levels inside and outside of school and in the community.
HEALTHY LIFESTYLE PROGRAMME
This programme will be aimed at children in years 5 & 6 and it will cover many lifestyle issues including:
Healthy eating
Diet
Smoking
The human body
Healthy Teeth
The importance of warming up
The importance of physical activity
Racism
Citizenship
Bullying
Dance
Walking
Sports
PHYSICAL EDUCATION & PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
The Physical Education programme will be based around the governments PE national curriculum.
The aim is to increase children’s participation in physical education sessions and to deliver at least 2 hours of high quality PE and sport per week.
FAMILY FITNESS
To improve and educate families on the lifestyles they lead and to encourage healthy choices and the benefits of increased physical activity.
Parents have the opportunity to build fitness profiles and to gain links with other leisure providers.
Sports development programmes are designed to encourage participation in sport from all sections of the community and provide pathways that will enable local residents to maximise their sporting abilities, aspirations and potential.
The BNSS Community Sports and Leisure Team will help with:
BNSS will provide the opportunity for the community to participate in a wide variety of activities and events.
The establishment of partnerships with local parish/town councils, schools, sports clubs and governing bodies of sport will enable development of skills and performance of individuals, groups and teams of all ages and levels of ability.
Above all else the opportunity to enjoy healthy, challenging and stimulating activity which will provide value for money and good practise will be viewed as essential to enhance the well being of the community which BNSS will support.
Through external funding and support from organisations, a broad programme of activities will be developed on an annual basis with the emphasis on continuous development within the community.
A variety of initiatives organised in the communities around the district will help break down the barriers community residents face in participating in sport and leisure. If Community Group or Village Hall would like to help in setting up a sport and leisure activity, then we shall help.
The Resource Centre will house a variety of sport and play equipment that will be available for hire or loan to support local communities in developing their own sport and leisure activities.
We shall provide information on coach education courses run throughout the year both locally and countywide. We shall also help communities with accessing sponsorship for some Governing Body coach awards. We shall also assist community members in becoming sports volunteers, leaders or coaches.
