The NILE African Development Organisation [NAD] works with many different groups and organisations on projects and programs in the Yorkshire & Humber, United Kingdom and Sub Saharan Africa, all with the intent of improving economic development in the grassroots areas. The following are just some of the previous and current projects we are associated with.
Project has been completed but you can still support us.
Project needs your support and funding.
Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. By building schools we help to train the future doctors, nurses, technicians, firefighters, police, farmers and leaders.
Child sponsorship is a very special way of linking one child with a donor, and allowing that donor to see the child develop and grow through the years that they support.
Across Africa, there are people dying through wars, famine and drought. Over six million children will die every year from things that we can cure or prevent. Children At Risk programs are aimed to help these children who need urgent help, from those living on the streets, to those who have been abducted.
It's hard to believe that the water we throw out after having a bath or washing the dishes is cleaner than the water many children have to drink. However, a large number of children will die every day in Africa because they do not have access to clean water.
The NILE African Development Organisation [NAD] is working with various groups to help develop skills and train individuals to be able to provide care.
Many people across Africa do not have access to good quality healthcare. Our aim is to help provide healthcare to as many people as possible throughout Africa.
Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment
Gender equality and women's empowerment are human rights that lie at the heart of development and the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals.
Despite the progress that has been made, six out of ten of world's poorest people are still women and girls, less than 16 percent of the world's parliamentarians are women, two thirds of all children shut outside the school gates are girls and, both in times of armed conflict and behind closed doors at home, women are still systematically subjected to violence.
That is why NAD integrates gender equality and women's empowerment in our main areas of work: poverty reduction, democratic governance, and environment and sustainable development.
The NILE African Development Organisation [NAD] also has many other smaller projects which do not fit under the other headings.
