Supporting Africans

For Unity and Development - Supporting Them Support Themselves

Training Programmes

The NILE is committed to helping organisations who work with and advise the African Diaspora community, refugees and asylum seekers and individuals to have the best support in their roles.

We provide a wide range of training courses to service providers and individuals  - those working with and supporting the African Diaspora, individuals, refugees and asylum seekers - and refugee community organisations who have a pivotal role in advising refugees and asylum seekers

The NILE has years of experience running training designed to support service providers and all those interested in our training programmes across the West Yorkshire in their work with asylum seekers and refugees. We work in partnership with a number of agencies including the University of Bradford - JEFCAS. Our courses are regularly updated to help keep participants abreast of the facts and answer questions on policy and practice. Our experienced trainers offer practical information to a wide range of delegates - helping you to meet the needs of the African Diaspora, asylum seekers and refugees in your work. We offer scheduled training courses in the Yorkshire and the Humber as well as in-house training packages.

We provide support to refugee community organisations on organisational development by providing them with information, advice and training.

We provide the following training for African Diaspora groups and RCOs in the following ways:

  • Financial literacy training for refugee individuals and RCOs.
  • Training for RCOs in how to apply for grants and project development.
  • Social Entreprenuship
  • Starting a Business
  • Kiswahili

We can arrange in-house training, designed for individual community organisations, based on their particular needs, identified following a needs assessment. They are run at the organisation’s premises, which makes it easier for many people from the organisation to attend.
